Pavy Beloiu

From a young age, I have always been fascinated by painting and drawing. I first fell in love with art when I was around 5 years old, playing in the studio of my uncle, Alexandru Donici. He was a great painter and teacher.

I would watch him as he painted the garden with the old well hidden in the shadow of the blossoming apple trees, with a rooster standing with one foot on the fence. I would accompany him along the river, crossed by old bridges, through green rolling hills, while listening to the birds, or delighting in the songs of the shepherds.

I grew up in an artistic environment, as artists gathered for my uncle's classes. I graduated after seven years at the Free Academy of Art in my hometown, Câmpulung, Romania. My paintings are held in private collections in Switzerland, Germany, England, and the USA.

A rocky beach at sunset, a snow-capped mountain peak, the face of a smiling girl wearing a red hat, or an old Gothic cathedral. All of these touch me deeply and offer me inspiration. Colors, shapes, and landscapes combine in my mind and give rise to feelings, which are then projected onto canvas and paper.

I strive to be accessible and spontaneous; to express my perceptions just enough to give the viewer the chance to continue, in their own mind, the emotions I have already set in motion.

Începând de la o vârstă fragedă, am fost mereu fascinat de pictură și desen. M-am îndrăgostit prima dată de artă când aveam vreo 5 ani, jucându-mă în atelierul unchiului meu, Alexandru Donici. A fost un mare pictor și profesor.

L-am observat în timp ce picta grădina cu fântâna veche ascunsă în umbra merilor în floare, cu un cocoș stând cu un picior pe gard. Îl însoțeam de-a lungul râului, care era străbătut de poduri vechi, dealuri înverzite, în timp ce ascultam păsările, sau mă bucuram de cântecele ciobanilor.

Am crescut într-un climat artistic, când artiștii s-au adunat la cursurile unchiului meu. Am absolvit după șapte ani la Academia Liberă de Artă din orașul meu natal, Câmpulung, România. Picturile mele se află în colecții private din Elveția, Germania, Anglia și SUA.

O plajă stâncoasă la apus, un vârf de munte înzăpezit, chipul unei fete zâmbitoare, purtând o pălărie roșie, sau o veche catedrală gotică. Toate acestea mă ating adânc în interior și îmi oferă inspirație. Culorile, formele și peisajele se combină în mintea mea și produc sentimente, care se proiectează pe pânză și hârtie.

Încerc să fiu accesibil, spontan; să-mi exprim percepțiile doar cât să-i dau privitorului șansa de a continua în mintea lui emoțiile pe care le-am început deja.
